Yes to all of this. Also I'm a sucker for The Folio Society covers. I have three The Folio Society books (so far - I'm always searching for cool The Folio Society books in charity shops) that I display like artwork. I wouldn't have even looked twice at two of those books if it hadn't been for the cover
I've been studying them both, and I still think i prefer the UK cover :)
Btw, that Liar's Dictionary book was quite good, definitely connected well with the cover image. I was going to update this post with that info, but tbh, I don't think many people care all that much!
Absolutely! When I was in school, we used old Reader’s Digest magazines (if you know what they are, I think they’re American, but this was at an international school in Madrid) and fanned them out and painting them gold, adding bits and bobs to them.
Oh yes, the Digest was quite international, although I'm glad my decorations were made from books with sturdy paper. The paper isn't painted or altered, other than cut to fan into the shape of Xmas trees, the stands have gold rope and white pearls, and so on.
Liar liar pants on fire. Most of your books are at home with mom and pops. I had to order another 16 foot Pod just for your books for our move. You can reimburse me out of the book profits.
How do you know exactly how many books are in NH v Kyiv? It's kind of hard for me to count right now, but the eye test tells me it's pretty close. Hold your horses, I'll be there soon to get rid of a bunch of books, so you can exchange that 16 foot Pod for a 14-footer.

The US version of Empire is more impactful, even if the font is average. The UK cover looks like it belongs to a work of fiction.

Yes, Liar's Dictionary is very good.
Reminds me of some Xmas decorations that I've had for years, used books fanned out and made into lampshades, with glass stands. My daughter made them.

Yep.
By the way, where is the Pod going? Tattooine?
Yes
