I don't want to burn any bridges, but: the audio version

This is not a verbatim read aloud; it's more of a 'conversation'

Welcome to the second audio version of a post. This one is different from the first, which was a word-for-word read aloud of a part of the post. It’s still not quite a podcast, but is meant to be a complement to the written version. You could listen and read along at the same time, but be warned that it doesn’t quite match up. Though it follows the flow, it’s more of a summarising/paraphrasing type of exercise.

Let me know what you think and how it goes. At some point, I will probably do more of a pure podcast that’s unrelated to an actual written post. As for video…not yet. Trust me - you don’t want to see my ugly unshaven face on your screen. Instead you’ll have to settle for my smooth, silky dulcet tones.

One important note - I mentioned at the start of this recording that you can read a transcript of this and compare it to the audio or use it to follow along (for language learners, listening and reading at the same time is very useful for pronunciation and being aware of the sound v spelling). Of the transcript, I said I hoped it would be “rendered accurately,” and I’ve scrolled through it and checked. It’s generally very good, but no one and nothing is perfect. I caught one small mistake near the beginning:

“So it should be a nice compliment to my written post i'm still you know,
a writer at heart,
I like writing but let's try the audio…”

Go back to the opening paragraph again:

I hope my audio version/podcast is a nice complement to the written post. Wow, those glasses really complement your face.

You say that my writing isn’t as bad as the other crap you see on the internet? Wow, thanks for the back-handed compliment!

It’s a small but important thing - a tiny misspelling, but it shouldn’t cause any significant problems (I hope).

Enough waffling from me. Enjoy the ‘podcast.’
